Hello MKE Guitar Group. Welcome to the next meetup. We decided to do a house and keep searching for winter venues. We keep singing, playing, and growing. Three new members last time.

We keep finding music we love. We will have copies of most of them. Existing members develop a songbook with existing gems. New members please come and if you want to bring music, we ask you limit to two songs and make 12 copies.

I will have a little food, so no need to bring anything. I have a witch on the front door. Come all to the next MKE Guitar Group and have fun singing and playing into the night. We have the best time being creative.

If anyone needs to reach me I am available by cell:[masked]-3923.

Have a great weekend. I'm off to see Neko Case, alt-country singer tonight.

See you soon,

Kevin Tissot, and Emily John, and Emily Forst.

Great job team. We all rang out and played into the night. Thanks new members who came, Peter and Greg and all the second timers. Keep coming all to sing, play and be merry. I think the next will run right before the holiday on the 18th. I'm looking for space. Gene had a tip on the JCC. Although we had a nice number last night, I want to ask for more participation. There are 52 guitarists in the meetup. Try your best people. It's safe and fun. Keep practicing all and develop your song books. 2 stars to Steve for bringing some solid new songs. For new folks, to bring a song, look for tablature and make 15 copies. Have a great day all and thanks for the rousing participation last night! See you next time, Kevin

It was one of the Best Nights of my life. Kevin and the rest of the members are lively and fun. I enjoyed the first time there. I enjoyed the Mikes, Jean, Peter and Emily and any others I forgot about. Mary also had a good time. I enjoyed Pesto the Dog if I said the name right. Playful and Fun. I also did apprecate that Songs that were played that there were sheet music with words and chord patterns on there. I would really want others to share this Milwaukee Treasure in the future with others. I was amazed what Accoustic Guitars can do.

Kevin, thank you for opening up your home to all of us. The Buddha beer was an extra bonus ;-)

Great time at the meetup last night! Lots of fun playing and (sorta, on my part) singing. Special thanks to Kevin for hosting the event in his home!!!!

The meeting also made me question my long-standing opinion that "Sweet Home Alabama" is a racist anthem. While Ronnie Van Zant tried a luke-warm walk-back of his lyrics about "the Governor" and not needing Neil Young, many still see the song as a defense of the Confederacy. Here's a couple links if you're interested in more on this topic.

As for Neil, here's a link to his solo performance at Farm Aid this in September, 2013. Excellent performance, high def sound- and a wonderful rant by Neil. Don't miss!

Looking forward to our next meetup!!!

Steve, Thanks so much for all of these links that I have read and listened to this morning. I must admit, I have been unconsciously singing lyrics I never considered all these years. I knew something was going on because of the lyrics about Neil Young in "Sweet Home A.," which is why I asked the question last night. With this new information (to me), I would be happy if we dropped it from our repertoire. Finally, thank you for the Lou Reed Tribute. So wonderful to see all those greats on stage together. May music continue to unite all our hearts. Let's get together to play and sing soon again!

Come all and get ready to sing and play. I got some little snacks and a couple beers. Don't bring a thing except your fun talent, big willingness, and friendly spirit. Call me with any questions.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
