The Songwriters Club

It's time again to come together and listen and play with each other. We create a supportive safe space to enjoy original music. It is our 3rd so we are still tender. Come one and come all with ready songs and pieces of originals. This is really a special offshoot of the covers group. We rock. See you on 4/2!!

It really should be no big deal. All we're doing is allowing vocalists to hear themselves and be heard. I wrenched my voice last session trying to match the 15 accompanying guitars and for those that have quieter voices or lyrics, this will allow them to express their song and still be heard. - No need for tons of equipment like a PA system. All Im bringing is a mic(and stand) and a small 10B amp. Yes, I will adjust volume and be sure it isn't a disruption to the bar area.

It's still a discussion Craig. The acoustic nature is fair. As the group expands, this will be a topic. You can bring anything, but no guarantee of using it. Next covers 4/22. Take care.

I think be great to get vocals on a Amp. But my other concern would be now would we get into a sound wars. I had this problem when I be practicing where you don't think you are loud enough and than as in Spinal Tap go to 11 on my Marshall Amp because I got more than a 10. Would the non amp side complain because they don't have a amp or a electric out let to plug in the amp or they could not sing through some one else amp. This is thing with the venue would they have restrictions because some bars don't have PA system and would the owners have problems because we are going electric that if non musicans the patron of the bar would they complain because they went to relax not hear the guitar club. Because when I was in a Band playing at Johnny Hammer's the band that was after use sabatoge our sound because we did not have a sound guy there and than they readjusted after our set.

There's a possibility of "miking up" the vocals for our next meeting. Any thoughts concerns or comments?

I said in the comment box up top but Do know any one who has a PA system? And if you own a PA system would you be the sound guy to besides doing a sound check is the venue going to let you play with it since it is all accoustic guitars?

Again please show your love for the Co Founder of the Group Emily. Please go to the show this Saturday at 9 pm at Linnemans. I am trying to see if I can get my friend TJ to go or his friend Don to go this concert since I can't. So please show your love and support for Emily who had the great vision to make this club happen with Kevin. So support the Local Music scene.

I have to apologize I am not going to a concert this saturday. Right now my girlfriend and me are trying to purchase a house. We are hoping to get a 3 bedroom house for ourselves. If we are approved for the home loan and the house is 3 bedroom. We would love to hold a meeting there. There is a concert with the co founder Emily please show your love and support by going to her show this Saturday April 12. There is a cover charge but remember your are supporting a amazing guitarist who help form this group so you can get better with your craft. Again I am sorry that I can't come to the show.

I would love to mic up but it would be only if your are playing electric or have drums. How many of club members been in bands where you have to set up and tear down equipment. Also it depends on the venue. I say if it at a home or find a bar that has mic with open jam. Do you have a PA system or a keyboard amp?

The meeting was amazing I saw a new individual who was brave named Bret strut his stuff. Other guitar heroes who emerged tonight. My friend TJ I enjoyed his bluesy groove for the song he choices. I also want to thank for song construction 101 with giving great input for helping the other musicians in the group to improve there craft. I also want to thank everyone for letting my friend Bill have a great night. He is fighting cancer right now. So pray for him. And remember count your blessings from God,Family and friends' who show what the meaning of love is. So Thanks for giving him the gift of a normal night. Again amazing meetup.

I liked it. We grow and sing and end songs. All brave souls. Ideas welcome, but I like the direction. We meet again in a month, date to be determined. Love to you all and keep on being creative. Kevin.
