Demo Series ideas

A lot of what we do as PHPers involves a lot more detail than we can demo in 45 minutes or an hour (not to mention the 20 minute bites this Organizer would prefer). Would it work well for people if we broke some topics into chunks, and make "Series" out of them?

A couple potential series themes:

  • Security 101 (10x, 20x, etc)
  • "How I solved my X problem" where X changes every month
  • HOWTO Series for /Startups|Entrepreneurs|Freelancers|Contractors|Newbies/

What other major topics can we talk about all day, but break down instead into digestible pieces?

Is this even a good idea? Talk to us.

That is an excellent idea. Yes, I would rather attend many 20-minute presentations of the same subject. For example Security 101 Part 1, Security 101 Part 2, Security 101 Part 13, etc.

That way there will be more participants contributing ideas rather than just 1 lengthy speech.

Thank you

The broad topics I currently have in mind are as follows:

  • Security
  • Performance
  • Running your business
  • How I solved X (a pet peeve, common problem, interesting problem)
  • Best Practices
  • Beginners' Series
  • Data or Content

Each of which is a rich enough topic to create at least a 6-month series of deep dives.
