In an unpublished opinion filed September 23, 2013, the Minnesota Court of Appeals reversed St. Paul resident Jordan Arend’s delinquency adjudication on a petty misdemeanor marijuana paraphernalia charge based on his sincerely held religious belief as a Rastafarian. His father, Jamison Arend, had proved a colorable claim of religious right to ceremonial use of cannabis years earlier in a separate court.
