Hello Randy;
I was hoping that piece would catch an unbelieving eye. I admit to having taken a little loose political license here but let’s walk through it. Let’s start with that half Billion you had, the top end on that estimate was closer to .9 billion and it was unclear if all legitimate expense were included. Hemps potential figures were also not used to the best of my ability to determine. The other issue was that the number of private sector jobs created by such an effort was never declared so one has to wonder about the validity of those figures. This is argueably the loosest part of this statement because I feel I stayed conservative on that number considering the job potential, both primary and secondary, related to cultivating and sales of marijuana and hemp products. Any way we can solidify those figures would be helpful, but what ever they are this has the greatest quantity of jobs, and quality income potential of anything presently on the states table. How does anyone say no to that if the public grabs hold of it? Politics is about spin, doesn’t this spin feel good? I have been planning on feeding this to the legislature and governors office soon but thought I would run it through here first to see how others think we might use this issue.
