So I've been playing at the Uptown Y for a few months now, on Friday nights. The schedule changed, and there will be no dodgeball there until the fall. Much to my dismay.
While the idea of paying $3 a game seems a little high, it's certainly worth it. From what I've read the balls are a little more substantial. I say this because of some comments I read in the headshot thread. The balls at the Y were very light, to the point of making even the most faint-hearted person usually laughing if they took a shot to the head. (the rules there were a headshot does not equal an out for either player) With a more substantial ball I can understand it being the way it is, even though I find it amusing since the two most common places I'm hit when I am playing are in the foot or the head. The Uptown Friday night games have a pretty regular group of people, and I would not be surprised if a few of them didn't find themselves checking your games out. I would be there on the 9th myself, were it not for already having plans. Next Saturday though........it's on! |

I'm not seeing you on the RSVP list for Saturday. You didn't chicken out, did you Rich? Who's going to stand up and represent the honor of the YWCA crew if not you?

It's funny you should mention that. I was on my lunch break browsing the web, looking at some stuff, thinking "I wonder if there are spots left!"
And then I got asked if I wanted to work overtime on Saturday. More money = more toys! So yes, I chickened out. Word on the street is we might have mandatory overtime in the future coming up, hopefully I can do it on a Sunday though. We'll see. |
