NYC Generation Tech (GenTech) is a tech-entrepreneurship program for high school students from under-resourced communities. Presented by the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), and TreSensa, GenTech’s Spring Break Game Jam aims to provide New York City high school students the opportunity to learn about professional game development and to build related technical skills. With the support of volunteer mentors, each student team will create a mobile game that runs on the JavaScript-based TreSensa Game Engine and a 3-min pitch presentation to showcase their work. At the end of the event, student teams will demo their games and compete for prizes.

We're seeking volunteer mentors for three tracks:

Support students in adding features, mechanics, and other gameplay elements – (Experience with JavaScript preferred)

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
