A book like is helpful for me in considering the problems with what a discussion of literature should concern itself with, and making a clearer problem out of such discussions.

Not sure if my reply to Erik took. I think that is a good idea to have an online discussion as we read the book. I know we usually skip the plot summary, but in this case it might be helpful.

I wonder if it would be of some benefit to discuss the book before we are done, even if it was just on the message board, or something. There will be so much near the start of the book I will have forgotten (however, maybe that's appropriate given that we tend to forget the things we have reflected on over the course of the day).

Hey, just wanted to send a reminder to everyone who signed up -- if you haven't cracked your copy of Ulysses yet, now's the time to start! 20 pages a day will allow you to finish the book by Sept. 11. I'll try to post periodic updates based on my own progress.

We'll probably do more than one night, but I wanted to gauge interest first and see how many people felt like they'd have time to read it... hoping that putting a poetry meeting between this novel and the last will give people time. Should be about 6 weeks.

Can't wait! Ulysses is one of my favorite novels of all time. Haven't read since high-school. What is the plan for the discussion as I know it's tall order to tackle in one night?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
