Partner event: Windows 8 Workshops: Windows 8 App Development

With the launch of Windows 8 just last month, we want to make it even easier for you to create an awesome app or game. We’re partnering with retail stores across the United States to bring you a 4-week workshops series designed to help you build a great Windows Store app.

The next series event is Friday, November 9th, from 6pm-9pm, at the Microsoft Store in Tyson’s Corner, VA, with a session on app development for Windows Store apps.

This session will be presented by Microsoft Technical Evangelist Ashish Jaiman, and will include information on the types of projects supported out of the box with Visual Studio 2012, as well as information on popular app frameworks like Xamarin and appMobi. Want to know more about Ashish? Check out his blog at http://www.ashishjaiman.com/, and follow him on twitter.

A couple of quick points, folks...if you're planning to attend, please RSVP ASAP, as we need a count so we can order the right amount of food (yep, for those who haven't attended yet, we'll have nice sandwiches, etc.)

Also, if time allows, we may include some hands-on exercise in this week's session, so please bring your laptop with Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2012 (you may also want to install appMobi or Xamarin if you'd like to try those). We'll have a limited number of tables set up, so plan to arrive early if you would like table space!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
