Google Glass

  • March 17, 2014 · 6:00 PM

Google Glass is a wearable computer with an optical head-mounted display (OHMD) that is being developed by Google.

Glass is being developed by Google X, which has worked on other futuristic technologies such as driverless cars. The project was announced on Google+ by Project Glass lead Babak Parviz, an electrical engineer who has also worked on putting displays into contact lenses; Steve Lee, a product manager and "geolocation specialist"; and Sebastian Thrun, who developed Udacity as well as worked on the autonomous car project. Google has patented the design of Project Glass. Thad Starner, an augmented reality expert, is a technical lead/manager on the project.

    Hi.

I won't make tonight's Glass Meetup, but if anyone attending (or seeing this note) is based in Chicago and wants to BUILD a Glass app, I have an idea and APIs upon which we can get started.

Upshot: Glass can play a role in helping those who license music into video content to ensure the music used truly aligns with a brand's identity.

The methodology typically used to license music for ads and branded content is highly subjective, and we at Music Dealers (at Jackson & Jefferson streets) apply a method we call 'Sonic Identity' to bring more rigor and data to these kinds of decisions.

Pop a note to [masked] if you would like to talk further, and for the record, I released my RSVP so there's an opening as of a few minutes ago.

Feel free to forward this to anyone you know who is of the mindset and skills to build a Glass app.

    My thanks, Chris
