Mobile Communities: everything you wanted to know but were afraid to ask

Facebook has reached its tipping point, Plaxo has an impressive new release, and dare we mention the virtual communities like Cyworld from Korea? Did you know that 90% of Korean youth and 30% of total population are active in Cyworld. And 90% of all picture uploads on the web in Korea go to blogs or photo sharing services within CyWorld.

Communities are hot. But what about Mobile Communities? That's what we will discuss on September 24th.

Who attended?

  • 208 attendees
    •  Presentations: eye flaps, wishfull thinking, enthusiasm with lack of realism. Ideas, concepts are not the issue. Usability, behaviour, operators. An glass hill to be taken. Comments on this issue during presentations: None!
    •  First speaker had some interesting case studies but struggled to bring them across. If that is the case in future, do a moderated interview, instead of death by Powerpoint. His experiences in New Zealand were far more interesting than the profile of the company. The second speaker was inspiring. I think the break is a bad idea. Mix the format (an interview, a couple of 4 minute pitches with an Idol's style panel of respected people and a keynote). Don't try to do too much. The networking time is important - and I guess the venue wants its money from the drink sales.
    •  great gig - good speakers - nice atmosphere
    •  verhaal Giles kwam niet goed over, teveel text op sheets. 90 seconds is blijvertje. Laatste presentatie = top
    •  bad presentation
    •  Eerste spreker vertelde een marketingverhaal. Tweede spreker was erg goed en inspirerend.
    •  1st speaker was not so good, the 2nd made more than up for it
    •  Tomi Ahonen was very good The backchannel again proved to be annoying and had no added value apart from cynical remarks and personal 1 on 1 jokes that have nothing to do with what the Momo was about. please lose it the next momo.
    •  Have the 90 second presenters prepare better! Some where really bad prepared.
    •  De eerste spreker won het niet van twitter. De tweede wel! Goede vibe, goede mensen.
    •  first speaker was so, so, the last speaker was great. It would be nice if the speakers also took notice of the questions on the screen behind them, otherwise the screen only distracts the audience from listening to the speaker. So make this screen part of what happens on stage or leave the screen out.
    •  Now it's time to bring the whole event to next level with all the feedback from our members.
    •  Very interesting and good to have that much mobile professionals together. I would prefer a shorter break in the middle, so the networking can start earlier. Yesterday we saw a lot of people leave soon.
    •  not much new ideas/knowledge. nice crowd though
    •  second speaker was very inspiring!
    •  It is great to see so much enthusiasm and energy in one room
    •  Zeer mooi verhaal van TOMI T AHONEN!
    •  Quality of 90 sec sessions was nog very hight. Elevator pitches were pretty boring, no 'what's in it for me'. Maybe next time take a little more time and ask 2-3 persons to act as a panel, askins some difiicult questions to get the message clear?
    •  Participation level of people attending could be improved. Within the group there is so much creativity, knowledge and vision, it should be (or facilitated to be) shared.
    •  Inspirational!
    •  great event. well done.
    •  Giles was dull. Ahonen was full of inspiration and energy. Bravo! Screen was too small to read in the back of the venue. 4* Matthijs Dijk Mocreate Den Haag
    •  great second speaker
    •  First speaker managed to make an exciting subject sound boring. Second speaker was great. I've met some unexpected business relations.
    •  Presentation Giles Richter was very poor, presentation Tomi was OK but more of a consultant. Next time skip break and just continue.
    •  Especially Tomi T Ahonen was good! Enthusiastic!
    • Tom
