Mobile Monday would not be possible without the help of our founding partner Vodafone, our supporters CM and NedStat. Thanks for making this event possible!
“ The Pecha Kucha concept worked great: it kept the presentations short and to the point, although the MoMo crew should be a lot more strict in terminating presentations that go overtime ;) For some presenters, it was noticeable that they were new to the concept, and I sometimes missed the "lessons learned" part, but the overall experience was good.
The closing notes of Gerd were inspirational and exactly what I expect from MoMo material. Good job! ”
“ Aantal interessante sprekers. Stuitend commentaar via de backchannel - dat heeft zijn beste tijd nu echt wel gehad. Breng het respect voor de presentator terug! ”
“ Overall it was good. The Pecha Kucha style presentations were ok, and the 10 minutes open podium was soso.
Gerd Leonhard was fantastic.
But please, please remove the screen with the backchannel! I'm a big fan of Twitter, but this has proven no added value whatsoever, other than a couple of people asking where they are or making stupid remarks from their chair. It's not interactive at all to the speakers and downright inappropriate towards them. Unless you count distraction as added value. Please consider this. ”
“ I did not expect there would be number of English Presentations. It was already a fantastic point. I always expect more business like presentations and it means "smelling Money". But after this MoMo #10 I changed my mind. The philosphy/theory/psychology whatever people call all are accepted. I think I break my mind and ready to go next step. The last presentation by Mr. Gerd Leonhard was great. Only problem I have is that even I took memo, I can not make a conclusion. ”
“ Some very interesting speakers - especially toward the end.
I would like to see more opportunity specific information ... Also I'd like to see a way people can see who others are at a glance (not just the name - but profession - or web-site owned)
Perhaps a list - looking for this ... kind of help/kind of contacts - on the wall?
or optional stand-up introductions ...
Am I also ignorant in expecting everything to be in English? Dutch has a rather limited viewing audience outside of Amsterdam - it feels like a hybrid cross at the moment half way between the two languages. Useful twitter passing twitter questions should be highlighted by a member of the team.
I'm interested in helping out :) ”
“ ik vond het pitchen voor het podium een erg leuke invulling. keep up the good work, steeds zoiets is leuk. het backchannel bleek echt een leven op zichzelf te hebben; heftig qua informatiestroom, maar blijf het houden! ”
“ Except for the last speaker (Leonard) I felt that the general quality of the speakers and their presentations was considerably lower than at previous MoMo events, the absolute lows being the one by the NS and the one on E-books. Leonard however, was fantastic and made up for the previous. ”
“ Interesting to see how the maxims of Web 2.0 - "community, creativity, collaboration" - are being translated into the business models of Web 3.0, and what the role of mobile communication devices is in all this. ”
“ Good initiative, I applaud more international (English) presentations. Visionairs, Tech guru's, Funding/ M&A experts, Global exposure subjects as items for future MoMo meetings. A bit of positive feedback is to let people talk more about their product/company as the presentations where a bit to much 'common' information (in general all these people should be industry experts or at least early-adapters) hence more in depth analysis and some technical exposure. Another good point to address is to show where Amsterdam mobile development relates to other countries, what are this group strong/weak points. Where are we going, how do we connect to the global MoMo network how to collaborate more (no fear of sharing ;o)
Cheers & keep on the good work I see a great future ahead!

“ I like the event, I liked the crowd. Thanks for attending. I found it was difficult to turn a 45 min. presentation into a 400 second Pecha Kucha. Little room for improvising :-) ”
“ Unfortunately i was only able to see the first part, which was a little disappointing. The short Pecha Kucha's were not really inspirating and also visually not really attracting. ”
“ Great talk by Gerd Leonhard compensated a program that was - overall - not very inspiring to me. This said, even a lesser MoMo is still great. Keep experimenting in actively involving the audience, please. ”
“ In retrospect, the Pecha-Kucha format combined with the restrictions on the topics to discuss were too difficult for most speakers, forcing them in a format that didn't bring the vibe and energy that usually accompanies momo presentations.
The e-book presentation was ok, but not very visionary. The presentation by Gerd Leohard was great, but also here on a theme that has been discussed so widely already that I didn't really get new insights or inspiration. ”
“ Forget the Pancho Vila (or whatever?) presentation style. Obviously the presenters are often struggling with the concept which makes it awkward for both presenters and audience. The added value of this type of presentation is not clear to me.
Skip the twitter feed or tone it down. Nice gimmick, but not more than that and it is distracting and in some cases even leads to respectless comments on the speakers. Or find a useful function for it, which (in my humble opinion) is not about useless comments on beer and jokes about the speaker :-)
I loved Gerd Leonhard's presentation. Good one! I could listen to him for two hours more. The open space pitch was interesting. Again all was well organised. Thanks again!
Cheers,
Geerten ”
“ I had a terrific time, especially with a fantastic crowd and with the presentations by Christine and Gerd Leonhard :) We respect your feedback! We all hope that the visitors of MoMo understand on a fundamental level that MoMo takes risks. That is part of our culture and concept. We did an open source MoMo with user generated content to experiment. Even two on the spot spontaneous presentations. That is good. That means that sometimes a presentation is good, sometimes bad, that is part of the game. We don't want and can't control all presentations. We learn, you learn. But we dig and uphold our motto: "Failure is when we stop trying". On top, we would like to stress that we can not fulfill all needs of our visitors. Some want business cases and case studies, some want vision and inspiration, some want surprises, some want a backchannel, some don't.
Finally, we are working on MoMo #11 with world class speakers like Howard Rheingold, Om Malik, Jamais Cascio, Joseph Pine II, Moore etc. ”
“ Good meeting again, especially the last speaker..
One critical point though .. pls manage the backchannel, educate the crowd or coach the speakers on the use of a backchannel. Too much remarks were severely off-topic, no questions or plain offensive towards the speakers.
Good use of a backchannel gives character to a debate and improves the presenation and user interaction (which was proven the case at many MoMo meetings) but in this particular meetup it was disturbing and in some cases even rude. ”
“ great atmosphere,
although to many speakers vague speakers, unclair what their message was.
Gerd Leonhard was really great to listen to.
The twitter bckground is funny, but be care that when it becomes to much it' distracts persons attention.
For the non-experienced speakers this can be frustrating. But please keep the screen! ”
“ Relatively good presentations, Gert Leonhard was the star of the day. If there would be 3 speakers like this guy, I would surely not mind to pay for MoMo. keep on going MoMo A'dam !! ”
“ Primarily I came te see Gerd Leonhard and he delivered more than well! On the other hand I hoped to be surprised by the other speakers but unfortunately none of them did.
I had a very nice afternoon and I must say MoMo#10 was very well organized. My compliments!
All the best and I hope to attend any MoMo in the nearby future.
Thanks! ”
“ Gerd Leonhard rocked the stage. For the others, stop plugging your products and wow us with new insights and inspiration. Too bad the example of how a presentation should be given @ MOMO was the final speaker. I agree with the twitterpost of another attendee, "next time three speakers like @gleonhard, and I'll gladly pay". ”
