This is a group designed for moms of all ages with young children. As moms we can build lasting friendships for ourselves and our children while sharing advice, laughs, and memories. Our events include a fun variety for the kiddos and moms. We have play-dates at local parks and homes, art days, and field trips to museums, zoos, discovery centers, etc. During the holidays we hold parties such as our Halloween and Christmas party. The group has become a wonderful source of learning and playing for the kids and an open and relaxed setting for the moms. It has brought me so much joy seeing friendships made for both the moms and kids and watching each child grow beautifully.
We typically have meet ups at least once a week (more during the summer), they are usually late mornings (so we can all get home before afternoon naps) and are typically on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays. We also have Mom's night out, Breakfast book club and planning meeting that are for moms only. We also have recently stated doing Family events about every other month. As a member you are not required to come to a certain number of events or anything like that. Member activity is simply based on how often you visit the website. About every three months or so I send an email to all members we haven't heard from in a while, if you would like to continue being a member just simply let me know. Otherwise I remove you from the group with the ability to rejoin at a time in your life that works better for you. Group planning is done seasonally, about 3 months at a time. Planning meetings are held at the end of one season to plan for the next. Moms can bring there ideas, meet other members and hear what the plans are for the upcoming months! We do host meetups in members homes on a volunteer basis. We limit house play-dates to 8 or less moms and do not allow first time members. We like to meet fist time members in a more public environment. This has worked out well and we have never had any problems doing it this way. Donations to the group are greatly appreciated. All donations go towards the website fee or to help the group in another way we see fit. Members also must live in the Dekalb/sycamore area (Rochelle, Cortland, Genoa, Elburn, etc.)
Want to share in the fun and join the group? click to join and then fill out your profile and and upload a photo of yourself (I prefer photos of the moms because the kids changes so quickly and are less easy to spot out at a meet ups) then you will receive an email approving you. I typically do this once a week so I apologize if its not right away.
