Nth Hike of the Season!

  • Aug 11, 2014 · 6:00 PM

This hike varies over the course of the year and -always- starts at the same location.   This is a brisk hike.

At the beginning and end of the season it typically covers the seven springs loop to Hunters point over the course of 90 minutes or less.   That loop is slightly more then 3 miles long.

As the day gets longer the hike switches over to the Hayfield side of the park, and changes every week.  The hike gets longer as daylight permits, starting at about 4 miles in the early season, and increasing to as much as 6 miles at the solstice.

Fremont Older is a hilly place.   This hike typically includes[masked] feet of climbing.

Directions:  Take Prospect all the way to the intersection with Rolling Hills Road.  Just past the golf course on the left.   Turn left at the Open Space preserve sign and proceed to the parking lot.

Special Note to first time attendees:   Allow extra time to find the trail head and parking.  In the summertime, the parking lot at the trailhead is often full.  You can park just outside the OSP entrance on the side of the road and walk in in less than 10 minutes.

The address is 22640 Prospect Road, Saratoga, CA. If you want to be sure to reach the point, just car pool with somebody coming from your direction. I will be coming from De Anza/Stevens Creek if you are interested.
