Let's go check out The Monuments Men, a new movie written and directed by George Clooney. It's based on a true story: An unlikely World War II platoon are tasked to rescue art masterpieces from Nazi thieves and return them to their owners. It's got a great ensemble cast, with George Clooney, Matt Damon, John Goodman, Bill Murray, Jean Dujardin, and Cate Blanchett. We'll get together for this on Friday night, Feb. 14th. I do understand that's Valentine's Day, so us singles can hang out and not give a crap about being single, and any couples that want to come are free to join us, too. Of course, I do recommend getting your tickets early, as the movie might be a popular one that night.
At this point, there is a 10:00pm showing listed for this week. Next week's times haven't been posted yet, but I'd guess there will be a 10:00pm then, too.
If anyone wants to get together beforehand, let's meet at the Brew Garden on Bagley, in the front of the theater plaza, at about 8:00. I'm hopeful that they won't have a busy Valentine's crowd, but I'll get there early to reserve some tables just in case.
As always, if you live near any Regal Cinema, you can pop into your Giant Eagle for discount tickets good at any Regal. It'll save you a couple bucks on the movie.
Hopefully you'll be able to make it, see you there!
UPDATE: Regal has now posted showtimes, and the movie is showing on Friday night at 10:15. So if you're joining us beforehand at the Brew Garden, we'll be there until about 9:50, then we'll start heading over to the theater. If you're meeting us in the theater, meet us in the lobby no later than 10:00, so we can get seats together.
