We had a ball last time we went to Cleveland Public Theater and thought we'd try it again.
Cleveland Public Theater is this city's "experimental" theater that showcases many of the creative and unique live offerings that would be available nowhere else. Their Big Box series gives the theater to local artists for one week to showcase new and original creations .
Titus is touted as a grand and gory rock musical, based on one of Shakespeare's lesser know plays, Titus Andronicus. Kind of, anyway. Shakespeare rolls over in his grave as his bloodiest, most horrifying script gets a total makeover as a rock musical. In this story of revenge, limbs are torn off, tongues are cut out... and everybody sings . It's an opera. Kind of.
Wear your old clothes just in case. And If it's like Beck Centers recent musical production of Evil Dead, you might want to bring an umbrella in case you end up sitting in one of the first few rows.
I'm not sure which theater this is going to be in, but just in case it's in one of CPT's smaller ones, I'd encourage you to buy your tickets online before the show. You can get them HERE. On Thursdays the tickets are discounted to $12.00 ( Normally $18.00)
If anyone wants to meet beforehand for a quick bite to eat or an adult beverage, let's meet to the XYZ Tavern next door at 6419 Detroit. Let's shoot for 6:00 and I'll try to get there a few minutes early to watch for anyone that signs up.
