Tuesday Night Coed and Reverse Coed Volleyball!

  • Mar 12, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Depending on interest, we'll set one net at Men's height and one net at Women's height.  If everyone prefers either 2 Coed or 2 Reverse Coed nets, that's fine too.  Majority rules...  The Men's height net would be for regular Coed play, as we've been playing on Monday nights. The Women's height net will have Reverse Coed rules, meaning that women can hit and block in the front row, and men can only hit from the back row and can't block when they're in the front row. For those who have not played Reverse Coed, it's a blast, with longer rallies, and a little more thought and strategy involved.

As a side note, if we get enough women's players interested, we can also reserve one net for women only, if we can get 10-12 women committing per night.

We'll have a cap of 25 players.

Due to insurance purposes, we'll have to add a one-time annual charge of $15 to cover member and facility insurance costs.  And with any insurance paperwork, there will be a waiver to sign as well.  Hopefully this is not too much of an inconvenience for anybody!  No matter which night you play, it will be a one-time charge that will re-set with each calendar year to make tracking easier.

We're also in the process of designing tee shirts and sweatshirts for anybody interested.  $10/tee shirt and $50/sweatshirt.  Once we have the designs ready, we'll post them for you to see.

I agree that some manner of rule consistency would be helpful. It seems that everyone has their own set of rules that they have adopted and it does occasionally cause some discrepancies. Since there hasn't been any standardized set of rules, it does make it difficult for newer players to catch on. And I intend no offence with the newer players comment. I was quite surprised my first night when I saw so many variations of the same rules

HI Roman, I was hoping that you could do a 1/2 hour clinic / have some one do instruction during the games to help everyone learn the rules. alot of carrying occured. Also other animal like behavior and ball hogging does increase rates of injuries. I missed you roman! Hope to see you and Michael around. I am looking for a higher level coed, just to let you know.

It was good to see you all out there tonight. It looked like we had some good rallies on both nets. It was fun watching the Reverse Coed court games. Sorry I couldn't get over to the Coed court before I had to leave. That looked like it was pretty good, too! See you guys next Tuesday, too! I'll be there around 7 again to walk through Reverse Coed rules and basic strategy for those who are there at the beginning!

Hi, I'm new here. What is the level of play on Tuesday nights? I would love to join but I dont want to be over my head as far as skill level.

We are just beginning this type of play on Tuesdays. I suggest that if you have played organized volleyball in the past know how to bump, set, spike and serve then you should come by and give it a try and then decide.
