1. What are your favorite outdoor activities?

Walking, kayaking, snow shoeing, getting out to cross country skiing is a goal, haven't gone for some years, but eager to start again. Horse back riding on a reliable horse, as I did last spring, also something I had gotten away from for some years. Hosting a fundraiser on Oct.23, at Veasey Park in Groveland. This is the Wabenauki Music Festival, Art Show and Bake Sale to benefit the Mad River Valley, devastated by Hurricane Irene. People are encouraged to bring instruments, there will be 5 bands playing, and hopefully people will be able to play music outdoors. If it's cold, there are lots of playing spaces for jamming inside. This is on Johnson Pond, suitable for kayaking. Actually, this would be a fun Meetup, website gives more details.

What prompted you to ask to join our Meetup? (Why would you want such tzuris?)

Are there any special places where you would like us to hold events?

We have some great places up here for hiking, snow shoeing. Camp Dennison in Georgetown is a great spot, as is Veasey Park in Groveland, the Boxford town forest and an arboritum here are also quite nice. as is Winnikinee Castle, great trails for hiking. Also, Salisbury Beach at low tide is a perfect beach walk, you can go as far as NH. Maudsley Park in Newburyport is also lovely, they had a music series this summer, a klezmer band played, though I missed this. Also, the concerts at the Lowell Summer Music Series are wonderful, saw Bela Fleck, Chris Issak, and Matisyahu there this summer, to name only 3 of the 26 concerts they had. Prescott Park in Portsmouth, NH, has outdoor concerts, 72 events, $50 for a season ticket. And last, but not least, the Shawsheen River Watershed Assoc. hosts paddles on the Shawsheen, a beautiful river, for exploring and river clean-ups, it's $15 per year, they trail canoes and kayaks for trips, then take them away at the end of the trip. Great, safe fun.

Are you affiliated with a synagogue or other Jewish congregation?

Do you object to being tagged in event photos on Meetup? Tagging means that when someone hovers their mouse over your face in a photo, your profile name will appear.
