Hi everyone, sorry for not having more events posted during the summer, between vacation and work I haven't had time to set anything up.

But! we're long overdue, so before even more stuff comes up, I'll put this onto the calendar! We'll be playing at our usual place at Meetup HQ.

We have boards (NY Go Center, please kindly pick up your boards soooooooooon). Just bring yourselves, your appetite for playing go, and $5 playing fee. 100% of the money gets used to help the group.

Beginners are more than welcome, myself or one of or other helpful members will be more than happy to teach you. Feel free to bring a friend too.

See you guys there!

On the whole, I loved it. I cannot agree that playing on the tiny board reflects one's ability to play on the full-size one -- so the start was trying -- but it was good to be able to help another neophyte (sp) with whom i played two games, and I so enjoyed playing a 6-year old who even when he was hard-pressed by my capture of the middle kept his cool and eventually beat me twice through my carelesssness. It is often noted how old age recapitulates infancy, but here I was able to enjoy a game with someone who I could tell appreciated my strategic play as I was first taught by someone over 90 yrs old, yet was, as I said, only 6. I wish I could have introduced the old man in Hawaii to the young player with an ageless heart.

X_X it's insanely hot this weekend, so don't kill yourselves coming! Take it slow, take it easy.
