Don't worry about it, I only thought of it beause my friend is a massage therapist whose mom passed away, and she said she'd asked for the day off for that reason.  So I didn't think of it either.

I am soooooo sorry ladies.  I was trying to flip things for Mom's day (so we did what other's do for their moms), but in doing so never realized that most places would have Moms & Daughters there.  HELLO - Duh!  Please forgive me. My intentions were purely to start conversation on some ideas, and then we'd eventually... like we have.... come to a great idea. Yay! 

 

I did/do want us all to be together, that's the point.  So this sounds perfect Carrie.  I'll email you personally for directions since I'm coming from pretty far north, basically Plano.  Last weekend I was at a park and it was so nice.  The idea of good food & friendship couldn't be any better.  Thanks a million.

Your idea sounds fabulous!  I think you're right about encountering the
mother daughter couples at the pampering places. For me personally, it's
seeing those couples that brings me back emotionally more than
anything.  Being out in the open, in the sun and surrounded by women who
share the same experience with you each Mother's Day sounds perfect. 
I also would be happy to bring something���I love to cook!

Carrie, I think a picnic sounds great! This is my first motherless Mother's Day and I know a few of you are in the same situation. I feel more comfortable with a small gathering in a peaceful place like a park and I think that would be a lovely way to share with each other and honor our mothers' memories. A day of pampering or another fun activity would be wonderful, but maybe we can do that on another occasion. Just as Carrie mentioned, I think seeing mothers and daughters out enjoying themselves will be too depressing. I live in North East Fort Worth, so that location is good for me. It looks like it'll be convenient for those living in both the Dallas and Fort Worth areas.

Perhaps we can bring a side dish, drinks, or dessert? Please let us know how we can pitch in.

On second thought a massage might bring us to a place surrounded by mother daughter couples, that might be depressing.  River Legacy Park is very close to my house, and I would love to pack you guys a picnic.  It's a really nice park in North Arlington, convenient to I 30, 183, or 121.  Does that sound good to anyone?

May 11 Date: Thu, 1 May[masked]:11:11 -0400 Ladies, Sorry to bring this up, as I'm sure many of you are avoiding the greeting card aisle like me, and changing channels when 'certain' commercials come on.  However - Any ideas for Mother's Day (for our group), as it's quickly approaching?  One thing that seems to be a theme for Mothers is to pamper them.  What if we did some sort of pampering for ourselves?  Does anyone have a nice nail salon/spa that we could all get some pedicures and eat some lunch at the same time.  Or we could do lunch before or after.  I know a gal that owns a Mobile Spa.  They come into one of our homes and do massages, foot spas, hand spas, and set a room up with candles and aromatherapy.  I'll get more details later.  Something else might be sending each other a card by mail or email with the spreadsheet that Sara compiled of addresses.  Just throwing some ideas out there.  If we don't do anything, no worries.  I just wanted to a pproach the topic sooner than later.  If you all can, reply back to this and let us all know your thoughts.  Whatever they are, don't worry about offending my ideas.  Maybe you're already spending the Sunday with your significant other's Mother.  Would you rather wait till our next meetup?  I just know this was a topic at iFratelli, for those who attended.
