Round Mt. Rainier ride

Looking to do a one day ride around and through Mt. Rainier. Looking to ride down and enter the park on the east side, ride up to Sunrise and then continue on and around to Paradise. Then head out the west entrance to head back to Everett. This would be a full day ride. I am open to suggestions on any alternate routes to achieve the goal. Maybe someone can suggest places to stop for lunch on the route.

We will be adding a stop at the Bothell / canyon park, park and ride [masked]th Ave SE., Bothell), about 8:30ish, for those southern folks, plan on being at Bothell location  for KSU at about 9am, don't be late.

We will also stop in Enumclaw to meet with some riders and have a quick break. This should be about  9:30 am or close to, location  is

Starbucks

1343 Garrett St, Enumclaw, WA 98022

Sorry but using main roads to get to and from the park. Trying to maximize time in the park itself, without making the day REALLY long.  Going to be 6 hours of ride time and then add in lunch a no other stops, day fills up quickly.  We will be meeting in front of the Safeway, and probably grabbing coffee at the Starbucks prior to KSU.  Please be there no later than 8am, it's KSU at 8:05am. Be sure to have your breakfast before  we head out.

This was my first ride with this group and it's a genuinely a nice group of people! Actually, this was only my 2nd group ride ever! Thank you all.

My Gurandaughter rode with me on this ride and she was absolutely thrilled by how nice everyone was, and was so excited that a few of the ladies took the time to spend talking with her. She was extremely impressed by " those ladies that rode on those huge motorcycles, and how good they could ride", as she put it.
She had a great time, thank you all for making her feel so welcome. She talked about it all night!

2 of us got stuck behind very slow vehicles for quite some time. We learned something... Know the route :)

We took the wrong turn off and headed home the way we came. Thank u all for a beautiful ride and your welcoming spirits.

Anyone meeting us at Canyon Park park and ride lot should be there by 8:30am. The northern folks should be there about that time, we will wait till 8:45 and then we will be headed to Enumclaw, to the Starbucks there to meet 5 other riders.

Checking road and weather conditions and weather will be awesome, sunny and 55 for morning ride. Road to sunrise is closed till July 3rd, so we will ride through to Paradise, all main roads and Stevens canyon are open. On the way back temp will run about 68 to 70 degrees and sunny. Should be a great day to ride. If anyone has suggestions for lunch, let me know in the morning..
    Bring your cameras!

Looks like we will have fantastic weather for this ride, but this is Mt. Rainier, so you never know when it may decide to at least shower on a clear day. So, I strongly advise you to bring some rain gear just in case.

Just checked on weather and so far we are good to go with sunshine all day! BUT, temperature on the mountain, paradise, sunrise, etc is to get no warmer than 52 degrees, so bring the right gear! And a camera!

I'm heading to Kennewick Saturday, I'm in for half the ride. I'll break off once you guys start heading back west off 123. See you at 8

The ride is 276 miles, about 6 hours of ride time. So add in about an hour for lunch, 2 gas stops, some scenery time and your back to Everett by about 5pm. Maybe 6pm. We will be making a couple stops in the park to sight see.but just quick ones.

Would be willing to route it/ lead or sweep it

Here is the selected rout. Drive time is about 6 hours not including food, gas, scenery and other stops. If anyone has any input on route, shoot it to me. I would say we will be back sometime around 5pm

Don, some South riders would like to join us. Is there a meetup point around fife for them?

    May 30, 2014

    • Don

Enumclaw would work, probably about 9:45ish...

      1 · May 31, 2014

    • Kumi

I'll inform my friends about it, thanks!!! 3 ladies will be joining with us!

      May 31, 2014

  • Don

To accommodate some of the south sound riders we will be making a quick stop in Enumclaw to meet with other riders and grab a quick bite (real quick) before we head out into backroads to Rainier.

    1 · May 31, 2014

  • Don

Will have to keep an eye on the weather forecast, extended forecast is saying it may rain, but good chance that may change as the time gets closer......let's hope so!

    May 29, 2014

  • Kumi

Bothell P&R (Canyon park) would work for us, too.

    April 9, 2014

  • Don

Since the ride is heading south, let's wait a bit and see who we end up with being the furthest south, we can determine the location then. But thanks Tina, we will keep it in mind.

    April 7, 2014

  • Tina B.

that would be cool as I also live in Bothell. There is a park and ride near Silver lake just off I-5 that some of us can meet at.

    April 7, 2014

  • Don

Give me a few days and I'll work out a South rondevous point for the more southern riders in the group. Not a problem.

    April 7, 2014

  • Von K.

For those who live a little further south (Silver Lake, Mill Creek area), is there a place we can meet up?
