Weekday Run on the ET Highway to Rachel

Here's a midweek ride that's going to take us north of the valley along the Great Basin highway (93) to the well-known Extraterrestrial highway (375), arriving in Rachel, NV about noon 30. This is the only town on the ET highway and the Little A'Le' Inn is where we'll rest and dine.

Rest and gas stops along the way: Love's at the 93/15 junction, Alamo or Ash Springs. From Ash Springs to Rachel and back is about 85 miles. There's no gas in Rachel. The total distance is about 310 miles. In returning the final rest/gas stop will be either Moapa or Love's at the 93/15 junction.

This ride was so much fun, and as my second ride with the Ramblin Riders, I find them to be such an inclusive, warm group of folks. Even though this was only my second time riding with them, they all made me feel part of the group, which is rare when you are an "outsider" riding with an established group. The new folks I met (forgive me, I'm terrible with names) were wonderful to ride and talk to as well. Thanks Donald and Peter, the leaders for this ride, who made sure everyone in the group was safe. I look forward to riding with this group again soon!

Thanks for the excellent ride Don. One of these days I will remember to bring some tanning lotion. It was great meeting a couple new friends and enjoying the company of those who participated in the ride. Definitely looking forward to riding again with everyone. Keep the shiny side up.

You know it's always a fun time for me to take people places they've never been to before and this was one of those times. Did I not mention how straight most of that route was? Thanks to everyone (especially bros. Peter & Carl handling the wingman and tail gunner) that came and I hope you had a fun and memorable time. This is how we roll.
