We will wind our way thru, Carroll, Howard and a bunch of other counties to Hanover, Pa. We will cross over Pretty Boy Resivoir, and go thru some areas of Amish occupancy, watch out for the horse poo. Finally winding our way thru Taneytown and then the Catoctins ending in Frederick. This is about 200 miles and should be a really nice day.

So... I was looking at the video and found Tom, Steve and Rick, at some point they were in front of me, were riding close to the yellow line on the curves. In the msf course they taught us to take a curve outside-inside-outside. I wanted to know which techniqe is better and do heavier bikes handle differently than a shadow750 on the curves, lean angle is diferent I guess? Is it more comfortable to be close to the yellow line throughout? Yesterday in some wet patches I felt my rear wheel skid, not too bad but i was wondering if tire pressure could be an issue. I was not too fast and the bike was handling well. How often should I check tire pressure? Valerie and Tom were behind me. Any suggestions for me? Thanks.

Hey Rana, PJ's advice is what I have found works best for me. This is a good read that echoes this: http://www.amazon.com.... Are you able to upload the video and share? I check my tire pressure every few weeks. I have read others check theirs every week. I just use one of my bike pumps to top it off...

Rana - my primary approach to negotiating any curve when riding in a group is two-part: #1 at all costs avoid crashing into the rider in front of me and #2 avoid overly complicating the effort of the rider behind me who's trying to do the same - especially when that rider is one whom I haven't traveled alongside over thousands of miles. Only after both seeing the rider(s) ahead clear of my "outside, inside" line AND seeing that a trailing rider is well clear of me will I generally consider setting up on a line through a curve other than that established by my staggered lane position. And while tracking a centerline or shoulderline ahead can help maintain lane position through a curve when an otherwise ideal line isn't available doing so has its own set of inherent risks that need to be controlled for.

I use a secret nitrogen cocktail in my tires. 78% nitrogen and 22% undisclosed chemicals. It's faster than straight nitrogen. I got the "good stuff". It's the bomb.

Rick - ZZ Top's - La Grange is a great song to whip around the roads listening to!

Indeed it is!! Technically however, at 160 beats per minute, it's "allegrissimo" style (very fast) not "allegro" (fast, quickly and bright). But I'll hold out hope that the day will include at least a leg or two during which I might queue up something that lively. Otherwise it'll be more like Sharp Dressed Man or Legs - at 125 BPM.burst o-

Yes yes no. :-) I hope to get some experience riding to tuscarora tomorrow. Is this going to be for seasoned riders only?

    October 26, 2013

    • Rana N.

Btw what exactly is Allegro style, I tried goggling it but got some music and interior design stuff. Is it just speed or formation too? Newbie question.

      October 30, 2013

Allegro, Rapido, Quick......all the same. I will push the pace where traffic and road conditions permit. You are encouraged to ride your own ride and move at your own pace but please do not endanger anyone else.....

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
