PVGP: Downtown Parade & Car Display

If you work Downtown, Wednesday of Race Week is a great day to take a long lunch break. Nestled among the skyscrapers several of downtown’s most prominent addresses open their courtyards for a sparkling preview of the upcoming weekend’s shows and races. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix hosts a parade and 4 distinct car displays in downtown Pittsburgh.

The parade starts at the Rivers Casino, beside Heinz Field on the North Shore. Cars stage in the parking lot across street from the main entrance, and pass under the marque as they head into town. The Casino hosts a breakfast for all participants. The PVGP is excited about this new partnership. Please email Rich Spring if you would like to participate in the parade. Parade participation is not required, you are permitted to go directly to your assigned car display location. at 10:45 am.

The car show starts with a parade into Pittsburgh from Rivers Casino on the north side at 10:30. Please arrive as close as possible to 9:00 AM to ensure your space in the parade. Due to an ever growing interest, no reserved parade spaces are available except for sponsor vehicles. Parade participation is restricted to antique, classic or race cars.

Registration Opens 8:00 AM
Parade Stages: 8:30 – 10:00 AM
Parade Departs: 10:30 AM
Cars Displayed Downtown: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

The Parade Lap enters the city at 10:45 AM and thunders through the streets, dropping off cars at four locations:

DJ Kelli Burns is appearing at our Market Square Car Show, providing musical entertainment during all afternoon.

The event is free to the public, but space is limited for show cars, if you are interested in participating in the parade and showing your car afterward please contact the captains:

Many thanks to the City of Pittsburgh and the plazas that host our car shows – we appreciate their generosity.

After the car display walk on over and join us for the PVGP Tune-Up at Bossa Nova from 6:00 until 9:00 PM. There will be a Happy Hour, appetizers and a display of race cars – only $40.

A little confused. Most Minis are not considered antique, classic or race cars, so can I assume that they don't want Minis unless they fit one of the categories.
