All Level Ride @ Walnut Creek Fall/Winter hours

Cooler weather hours are in effect starting on December 2nd!!

It has been a little bit chilly in the mornings so it is time to change the start time of our ride to 1:30 p.m. Look for a change back to mornings sometime around March 10, 2013.

We know that this time change doesn't work for everyone so we hope you considering hosting a ride for yourself and those who might want to ride at a different time or on a different day.

You do NOT have to be a ARR member to attend most club riders. You will need to sign a waiver and wear a helmets when riding.

This is for all levels of riders, which will break into groups according to ability. Beginners are welcome, and there will be no drops. Meet in the parking lot by the swimming pool. The route will make it easy for anyone to get back to the parking lot via the freeways. Helmets are required along with a bike in good working order.

The ride last approximately 1.5 hours. Sometimes less, sometimes more. Just depends on how everyone is feeling on that particular day. The Fast Group usually rides 12-16 miles, the Intermediate Group does 8-12 and the Beginner's Group averages 8- 10 miles.

This Sunday Ride will be canceled if trail conditions are wet...if there is any doubt as to whether or not the Sunday Ride is a go please check BikeMojo.com on the Austin Ridge Riders thread... Almost every week, someone will ask for confirmation and the ride leader will post a response.

Riders break into groups based on skill level. New riders can receive skills instruction and experiences riders can just hammer out some miles. Mike Wisbauer, Todd Johnson, Shane Wolfe and Robert Hansen are the regular rider leaders. This is a great way to learn your way around Walnut Creek.

Anyone interested in helping by being a group leader see Mike Wisbauer at the group ride or send him an email.

An Austin visitor would like to ride with the group on that Sunday. He can rent o a bike but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask if anyone can do a fellow MTB enthusiast a favor and take a bike to the park and loan it to him for the ride. He is 5' 9" and usually rides a hard tail. Post or message me and I'll get you two in touch.
