All Level Ride @ Walnut Creek Fall/Winter hours

New Fall/Winter hours to help when the weather gets colder.  Starting 12/1 we go to 1:30 pm.

We know that this time change doesn't work for everyone so we hope you considering hosting a ride for yourself and those who might want to ride at a different time or on a different day.

You do NOT have to be a ARR member to attend most club riders. You will need to sign a waiver and wear a helmets when riding.

This is for all levels of riders, which will break into groups according to ability. Beginners are welcome, and there will be no drops. Meet in the parking lot by the swimming pool. The route will make it easy for anyone to get back to the parking lot via the freeways. Helmets are required along with a bike in good working order.

The ride last approximately 1.5 hours. Sometimes less, sometimes more. Just depends on how everyone is feeling on that particular day. The Fast Group usually rides 12-16 miles, the Intermediate Group does 8-12 and the Beginner's Group averages 8- 10 miles.

This Sunday Ride will be canceled if trail conditions are wet...if there is any doubt as to whether or not the Sunday Ride is a go please check BikeMojo.com on the Austin Ridge Riders thread... Almost every week, someone will ask for confirmation and the ride leader will post a response.

Riders break into groups based on skill level. New riders can receive skills instruction and experiences riders can just hammer out some miles. Mike Wisbauer, Todd Johnson, Shane Wolfe and Robert Hansen are the regular rider leaders. This is a great way to learn your way around Walnut Creek.

Anyone interested in helping by being a group leader see Mike Wisbauer at the group ride or send him an email.

Great ride today! I had a lot of fun, thanks for hosting it. Now I get to head back to snowy Boston.

I found the link to the map that shows what trails will be closed.

according to this the Log loops and that whole area will be closed. Also the main trail after .6 that takes you over to either root drop or the other creek crossing will be closed.

Yes, that's the map I found so it looks like it's going to be tough to work out a good course. We need to contact Cindy and the City to find out if it's really going to close in early January.
