Happy Hour Ride!!

Did anyone else see it's going to be almost 90 Thursday?!?! Let's get out and enjoy the first summer like day. As always, there is an after party in the parking lot. Bring beer and food to share while you catch up with old friends and make some new ones.

Everyone is welcome, but here are a few things to keep in mind:

1. This is an unsupported ride, which means that you should have experience on a mountain bike. You should be prepared to fix your bike, find your way back to the parking lot, and ride solo if it comes to that. This ride will not have a dedicated "sweeper." If you're worried about riding alone, think about bringing a friend or posting a note on the site before the ride.

2. If you don't know the trail, you should carry a map or directions.

3. A helmet is required, and we strongly encourage you to bring a cell phone and water.

4. You should have a bike tool, pump and spare tubes — and of course know how to use them

Thanks to the two guys who helped me up after a slow motion can't-clip-out fall a quarter mile from the parking lot!

Hey MTBer's, due to not having enough group leaders we are going to be breaking up into only 2 groups this week. We will do our best to keep everyone with the group, but both groups are going to be doing the entire loop. If you are dropped please make sure you can get back to the parking lot and we will regroup there with beer and hotdogs. Make sure you get some numbers and if you are lost we will find you. This is intended to be a fun casual ride for everyone. Looking forward to enjoying this beautiful weather with everyone!!

Also, (unlike Fountainhead) the trails are not one-way. Therefore, you can always backtrack along the route you used on the way in.

Several people asked for a map. This link is the best I can find. If anyone knows of a better map please post. http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/trails/

And will this be like the last time which was divided by levels?

    May 5

    • Laurie J.

If it's as big of a group as last time we'll do our best to split it up. We'll make sure you don't get lost though.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
