Weekly Tuesday evening Pentlands ride

1.5 - 3 hour approx. or there abouts. Suitable for all but the complete beginner. Social ride starting along the Union Canal meeting at the Boroughmuir Rugby Club bridge next to Collington Road. Head up onto the Water of Leith and up into the Pentlands, choosing from a range of circuits. Where we go depends on the group's decision!
Nothing too grand or dull, somewhere in between. Social ride with some interesting bits and a bit of a mid week work out! Get out while the days are long...ISH!

We prefer all riders to be wearing helmets. No helmet: no ride. For the good of the group. Thanks.

BRING LIGHTS...even a head torch as by 930 pm it's starting to get pretty dim!! 'It's pretty dark in them there woods.'

WAITING LIST-
I've increased the numbers as there was quite a waiting list. We can always split into two groups and do two different routes

Alright folks. Who's up for beer on Thursday? As Stuart suggested let's go for the Hermitage in morningside. I'll be there round 8. Hope to catch you all!

Lets go with the 18th then. Dont know where folk stay but the Kilted Pig just down from where the ride starts is a good pub. Happy for suggestions though.

Works for me or The Hermitage Bar which is on the big junction in Morningside and thus on bus routes?? TBH my knowledge of bars is minimal so happy to take on suggestions.

Great ride last night folks. good banter and a few laughs along with one hell of a bounce down some steps by Guy! I am surprised you walked out of that to be honest mate as you landed badly but very glad you did. Lets hope the clear mild night stay for some time yet.
I was thinking or holding a beer night. When would folk suggest? Finish early or pick a random night? Cheers

I have no idea what mines called as it only say Bicycle Light! Remember though I got it on line from Hong kong and quite a few folk have it. Around £60 three years ago and does me fine.

What route do you normally ride in the Pentlands? Do you go up through Bonaly?

    August 27, 2014

    • Christopher K.

Yep. Usually head up a bit beyond Colinton before crossing the narrow metal bridge through a couple of farms. Meet you along the way.
