Desolation Wilderness 3 day backpack (Fri-Sun)

  • Jul 20, 2012 · 9:00 AM
  • Fallen Leaf Lake Road at highway 89

We'll start from the Glen Alpine trailhead at the far end of Fallen Leaf Lake, and do a big loop by Lake Aloha, Dick's and Jack's Peaks, and maybe Mount Tallac. 3 days, 2 nights total, camping in a different spot each night. Total distance will be about 20-25 miles. $8 meetup fee includes BAMM paypal costs.

This is intended as a moderate level trip for intermediate/advanced backpackers who have done an overnight trip before. Some of the trails will be steep at times.

I would like to join if I can get a ride from Vallejo which is on the way for most of you. Please let me know if you have room. Thanks.

Please note we are meeting at the intersection of highway 89 and Fallen Leaf Road. From there we will caravan to the trailhead where we can park for the weekend. Try to have most of your gear sorted before you arrive. I would like to hit the trail by 10:30am.
