I live near Sequoia NP, looking for other women who will backpack 10-15 mi/day, eager to do xc off-trail routes, and class 2-3 mountaineering. Sad to say I'm vertically challenged and don't do exposed climbing, but am eager to learn ice ax etc.

I would love to begin backpacking too. Nicole
Hi Keio, My wife and I are both tele skiers. We also backpack. I was a backcountry ski searcher with Tahoe Nordic SAR (Placer County) before moving to Visalia in September. Are you on a SAR team? - Jim
What, you didn't drive five hours up to SF for the little bar bash we had!?!?!? . . . I was hoping for a room ( bar full) of experience, but it was mostly guys and girls with little to no experience . . . I did get recognized as "the guy in the JMT vids!" so that was fun . . . but made no solid connects??hopefully with the falling snow, will come more commitment from some of them. HOW ARE YOU? SEEING WHITE YET??
Keio: I just noticed you're using the snap from Panther Peak. Cool.
Hey there. I couldn't figure out how to read or send messages back. But as for the questions you asked. I've been to Urshim once and have never been to devils bathtub but I was hoping that someone with more experience knew. I'm still new to the hiking experience and I've gone backpacking before. But I've always gone with someone that knew the trail.
Sorry I didn't get back to you about the dogger. My wife out voted me. :-( No new doggers this year.
Thanks, Keio, got your email via my profile. No email for you in it, though. If you want, shoot me another with an email address and I'll send you mine and other contact info. Some of the benefits of hiking in the Monument, GT Wilderness, and Mountain Home in addition to proximity to those of us in the So. is that they are uncrowded, more dog friendly and have no entrance fees. A fit avid hiker neighbor, a good guy who hikes with me often, has a well mannered dog who loves to come.
Hello Keio. My usual weekly hiking territory is probably on the So. fringe of things for most of the Fresno Group. I hope to join the others occasionally for their activities to the north, and maybe get a few things scheduled down here in the Golden Trout Wilderness and adjacent Giant Sequoia Nat'l Monument and So. Sequoia Nat'l Park. Shoot me an email on my profile and I'll foward my contact info and email, if that is OK.
hello, i am scheduled to hike the middle fork trail June 10th, I was wondering how your trip was, were you able to reach redwood meadow?, snow level, diffuculties crossing creeks? any info would help thanks Santiago
