Do you favor UGC ?

Some members do have a UGC unlimited card, others have coupons for UGC. So it seems favoring UGC cinemas for events would be a wise choice.

September Movie Meetup Preferences

Here are the choices for September viewings. A few notes because I don't have room in the polling section: "Le Vent se Leve" starts August 23rd and recounts events leading up to the Irish war for independence. Apparently, it doesn't present the British in a very good light and therefore, hasn't been well received in Britian. I left La Science des Reves in the poll from the last time because it opens the 16th of August. It's by the same director as "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and stars Gael Garcia Bernal of the "Motorcycle Diaries". With a mix of Spanish, French and English. "Adieu Cuba" started August 9th is a work by and starring Andy Garcia that took 16 years to complete. It's also 2.5 hours long. "Little Miss Sunshine" starts Sept 6th is apparently about a little girl and her family try to find their way to California so that she can prove to the world she is not a loser... it's supposed to be one of the best American films this year.

What film should we see for our first movie meetup?

I will organize one Meetup to view one of the films based on your response to the poll. We can have a coffee and snack after the viewing to discuss but I will also organize a separate Meetup to discuss the other films which you can see on your own or in smaller groups as you like.

What are your movie junkie meetup preferences?

I've taken on the organizing role for the Paris Movie Junkies Meetup; however, I would like to see what level of interest people have in the group. My thought is that we select upcoming movies a month in advance, attend the movies and then rank/discuss them at the monthly meetup. I would like to get a feel for whether people are interested in seeing the movies as a group, seeing the movies on their own and meeting for discussion, or some combination of both. Please indicate your preference in the poll as it will greatly help me get the group going if I know what you're interests are! Thanks!
