Samson & Delilah (MA15+) 101 mins
5 stars from both David and Margaret. A must watch Aussie film.

This is the opening week and the film has received a fantastic welcome, so I recommend getting your tickets by 6.30 latest.

We will meet in the Dendy Newtown foyer at 6.30 and we will head inside at 6.45 to get decent seats. The film starts at 7.

As usual, if you're late and can't find us in the foyer, watch the movie and meet us in the foyer after the movie. We will regroup and head to Cafe C one block up some reflection and some cake.

Synopsis: Samson and Delilah live in an isolated world - a remote Aboriginal community in the Australian desert. In amongst a tiny collection of houses, everything here happens in a cycle. Day in and day out - nothing changes, everything stays the same and no one seems to care. Except for Samson, a cheeky fifteen year-old who yearns for the horizon. Even though boredom set in long ago, Samson attempts to occupy himself with his offbeat humour. Unable to express his desire for something more, Samson's private escape comes in a tin - he's a petrol sniffer. When a violent eruption takes place at home Samson breaks the cycle and his journey begins.

I didn't go to the meetup, but I saw the film; and I think it was one of the best films I've seen in a long time. A powerful piece of work.

Hi all, Unfortunately only half of us could get our tickets before they sold out. Very surprised to find out that Dendy put on this highly anticipated film in their smallest theatre!

    •  This was my first time coming to Movie Monsters. Movie was good but meet-up was a bit dis-orgnaised. Couldn't find people and then not everyone could get tickets to the movie. Next time!
    •  Oops, the movie was sold out by the time I arrived at 6:35 p.m. To top it off, my bicycle pedal broke on the way home! :-(
    •  An excellent movie.
