chEAp sEAts – Elysium

Elysium

See a sci-fi thriller, "Elysium" at 7:45PM on Friday for $2.00 admission – that's right, TWO BUCKS!Tropicana Cinemas is located in the lot behind the Rebel station on the northwest corner of Tropicana and Pecos with plenty of well-lighted parking. I'll be there at 7:30PM – find the Elysian man with the grey beard inside the building, near the theatre (numbered one through six) showing our movie. Note that food and drink brought from outside is not allowed in the building. Optional meeting to socialise afterward at Putter's, thirty yards away.

In the year 2154 (very much like now) two classes of people exist: the very wealthy 1% who live on a pristine space station called Elysium; and the 99% who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Infected with a cancer virus, factory-worker Max DeCosta (Matt Damon) has only five days to get from Los Angeles to Elysium in order to be cured. Max straps into a powerful exoskeleton in order to kidnap a rich businessman (William Fichtner), steal his identity, and hijack his way into Elysium. This pits him against the Secretary of Defense (Jodie Foster) and her violent secret police led by Agent Kruger (Sharlto Copley).

I saw this already at a screening before it came out. It's pretty decent. Definitely worth $2.

Wouldn't see it again if it were free, but then sci-fi isn't really my thing.

I guess I'll see it a 2nd time to see if I can figure out what accent Jodie's using. Damon always worth watching twice.

I should be there for the movie. We will try to get to Putters prior, so that we can have dinner. I'll post a message if we are able to do that. See you tomorrow night.

thank you for the invite, but I seen this movie. It was good to me. I love Matt Damon. A good theme about class (rich vs poor) no middle class exist. I enjoyed the movie.
