chEAp sEAts – About the Best Grandpa Runner

Come see your choice of THREE comedies, either "About Time" at 7:20PM, or "The Best Man Holiday" at 7:30PM, or "Bad Grandpa" at 7:40PM on Friday for $2 admission – that's right, TWO BUCKS! But wait ... there's more! For the Grinch who doesn't like comedy, there's a crime drama, "Runner Runner" at 7:50PM – so there's no excuse to stay home Friday! Tropicana Cinemas is located in the lot behind the Rebel station on the northwest corner of Tropicana and Pecos with plenty of well-lighted parking. I'll be there at 7PM – find the bad grandpa with the grey beard inside the building, lurking in the lobby. Note that food and drink brought from outside is not allowed in the building. Optional meeting to socialise afterward at Putter's, thirty yards away.

"About Time" (7:20PM) is written and directed by Richard Curtis (who did "Love Actually", "Notting Hill", and "Four Weddings and a Funeral") in which Tim Lake (Domhnall Gleeson) discovers he can travel in time. His father (Bill Nighy) tells him the men in his family have always had this ability, which he then uses to get a girlfriend: the beautiful but insecure Mary (Rachel McAdams). However, Tim finds out that his unique gift can't save him from the sorrows of life, and the limits to what time travel can achieve.

I've seen "Runner Runner" (good movie) and I'm torn between the other three, but I'm leaning toward "Best Man Holiday". I'll procrastinate (as usual) and decide when I'm in line at the box-office Friday.
