Calvary

TICKETS SOLD OUT

£6 Mondays at the Barbican

From John Michael McDonagh, the writer/ director of The Guard, this dark comedy drama stars Brendan Gleeson as a small town priest who, during confession, is told he is going to be murdered in 7 days time.

Also starring Chris O’Dowd, Aiden Gillen, Kelly Reilly and Dylan Moran.

The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and received a 4-star review in the Guardian along with the following praise:

‘Just like The Guard (the director's 2011 debut), Calvary boasts a sharp sense of place and a deep love of language. It's puckish and playful, mercurial and clever, rattling with gallows laughter as it paints a portrait of an Irish community that is at once intimate and alienated’

It's also recently received a 5-star review in Empire magazine

Tickets can be booked (here).

We’ll aim to go for a drink after the screening to discuss the film.

I’ll send out an e-mail with meeting details to all those who have RSVPed shortly before the event.

going to book my ticket - and it just struck me it would kinda make sense to sit fairly close to others from the group before randomly picking a spot.
Anyone care to share what Row they will be in?!

If it's half as good as The Guard I'll be happy. And I'm just headed to the Barbican shortly so that was perfect timing lol.
