Locke (+ Q&A with director Steven Knight)

Tom Hardy plays Ivan Locke whose personal and professional lives reach critical mass in one evening, as he drives from the Midlands towards London.

Hardy is the only actor who appears on screen, but the film also features the voice talents of Olivia Coleman and Ruth Wilson.

‘Locke follows the path hewn by more straightforward one-man thrillers such as Buried [Ryan Reynolds (trapped) in a coffin for 95mins], but the drama here is deeply felt, and the supporting cast craft complex and fascinating characters despite only being voices on the other end of a telephone call’ Robbie Collin Daily Telegraph

Director Steven Knight is perhaps best known for his screenplays for Stephen Frears’ Dirty Pretty Things and David Cronenberg’s Eastern Promises. He will make an appearance after the screening to discuss the film.

Tickets can be booked (here).

We’ll aim to go for a drink after the event to discuss the movie.

I’ll send out an e-mail with meeting details to all those who have RSVPed shortly before the event.

I thought it was a great thriller without bombs or spiesor rushing to save the president in the nick of time...it was just the ordinary concerns of everyday people

this film really got under my skin, it had a stark relentless intensity. Powerful understated performance from Tom Hardin, and i loved the contrast between the mundane dialogue and the impending life changing consequences that were pulsing away in the background.
