Jimmy's Hall (dir. Ken Loach)

£6 Mondays at the Barbican.

Another chance to catch what may be the last feature film by director Ken Loach.  Described as 'one of the sunniest and most optimistic' of all his films.

Set in the 1930s, the film centres on an Irish communist leader James Gralton, who returns from a decade in New York to re-open a dance hall, only to encounter opposition from the law and the church.

Tickets can be booked (here).

We’ll aim to go for a drink after the screening to discuss the film.

I’ll send out an e-mail with meeting details to all those who have RSVPed shortly before the event.
