So difficult to narrow it to three and it changes from time to tiem, but at this precise moment:...
- Amarcord
- The way we were
- The Namesake

I noticed several people mentioning Gone with he wind.
I have to agree, So that would be my Bonus tip.

Hi, I am also new to this meet-up and am looking forward to the first one.

It is difficult to narrow it down, but here we are:

Waking Life
Because it was just awesomely surreal.

Walking on Water
Because this quite recent film deals with the German(3rd generation after the III. Reich)/Jewish/Israeli/Palestinian dilemma in one humane swoop.*

To Be or Not to Be
Because when I saw this 1942 Lubitsch film, I was able for the first time to laugh about something concerning the Nazi time.*

My extra is a verdict on last year: "Once" beat "The Lives of Others", "The Counterfeiters", "The Namesake, "Babel", "Pan's Labyrinth" and "The Bourne Ultimatum" :-).

*Yes, I am German.

It's always difficult to pick your favourite film or even top 3, but some of my favourites are

Lost Highway
The Lives of Others

Also love...

Brief Encounter
Terminator (1 & 2)
The Prestige
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Spirited Away
Dancer in the Dark... oh there are so many!

Hey, I've just joined and am excited about the meetup next week. I've just moved to London from Vancouver, BC and love movies. "Top three films" is somewhat impossible for me, so I'll just give a few that I really like:

Station Agent
Lars and the Real Girl
Empire Records

Hot Fuzz
Adventures of Priscilla
Crying Game
Far and Away
Adventures of Baron von Munchausen
Good Night and Good Luck

Dirty Dancing and Princess Bride are my guilty pleasures...

I have quite eclectic tastes...
