North by Northwest

This is a Hitchcock classic that I've seen a dozen times but never in a theater. There are a couple of scenes in particular (the crop duster, etc.) that should be really fun on the big screen. It's a suspense (not horror) movie that stars Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint, and an extremely nasty James Mason.

We'll plan on finding our seats around 2:45. If you haven't been to Tampa Theatre before, please note that on-street parking is free in downtown on Sunday but you may have to search for a space to get close to the theater.

Fans, It's usually better to call a contact number (if you have one) than post "I'm here. Where are you?" on the event page comments. Not all hosts have smart phones.

This movie was a mix of adventure, mystery and comedy. I think Alfred Hitchcock was a genius with his stories and I love the movies.

What's not to love about this movie. Learned a lot from the q&a afterwards.

Great movie choice Barry! Was nice to see a good classic. Haven't seen one in a long time!

Hey Fans, Barry said he'd be the de-facto host. Coleen and Paula are also familiar with how I and others host events. I suggest meeting on the mezzanine that overlooks the lobby. The lobby floor can get too crowded to find each other. After the movie, If you are going someplace together, I suggest meeting at the curb across the street from the theatre. It is amazingly easy to lose sight of people when leaving the theatre when there's a large audience.

OK, thanks, Lee, we'll follow that plan.

Unless we have a member of the Hosting team to take the reigns this will be an "unaccompanied event". Perhaps one of the YES respondents would volunteer to be host. That may be an opportunity to learn how challenging (or not) putting on events can be.

Lee, thanks for moving this to the front page. Since I suggested this one, I plan on being there at 2:30, so I can be an (unlicensed?) host if that works. Sorry you won't be there - hope you're doing well and we see you soon.

Darn! Hopefully, you'll have another movie for this time ... sort of still settling in my new place and rediscovering a few locations. Great film nevertheless.

    How are you feeling, Lee?
