Traditionally scheduled on the Saturday nearest to Talk Like A Pirate Day (September 19th), the Pirate Palooza™ Pubcrawl is the ultimate inland meeting of pirates, buccaneers, rascals, rogues, scoundrels, ruffians and scalawags this side of the bounding main. It’s an invasion, a sack, a pub crawl and a great way to meet other enthusiasts of the piratical arts ending in a fantastic pub sing starring some of the most popular Renfest bands of our time! Join Captain Drew and his crew as they wend their way through the ale houses of downtown Decatarrr on their way to the big Palooza at the end of the night. Be prepared for rollicking sea chanties, soaring ballads and bawdy pub songs delivered by the most skilled musicians in all the land. For details of the pubcrawl stops and the rest of the event please check  http://www.piratepalooza.com. As in past years, the 2014 Palooza will be divided into two distinct chapters: the pubcrawl and the concert. The Pirate Palooza™ Pubcrawl begins at 1:30pm and lasts until 6:30pm. The Pirate Palooza™ PubSing begins at 7:00pm and lasts until 11:00pm, if not later! Thar will be a map of the pubcrawl course on the Pirate Palooza™ site!

History of the Pubcrawl dreamed of by Captain Drew, greatly and fabulously abetted, planned and engineered by Fiona Leonard, Geoffrey Brown and Tracy Wilson, the very first Pirate Palooza™ Pubcrawl debuted in 2005 where it netted round about 100 patrons, both pirate and lubbers. It featured music by a great gaggle of extremely popular Renaissance Festival music groups and much ale, wine, grog and port were consumed by the attendees. Many grand hangovers were born that night and the event became legend in short order.

This was a very important event for us because 3 significant things happened that day: The birthday of Captain Drew, our one year anniversary for us in Atlanta Pirates and Wenches Guild, and the 10th year Anniversary of Pirates Palooza! I am very happy to have my pirate family pirate for you all enrich my life with great piratical adventures! and it is always a thrill to see each and everyone of you at new pirate events. Thank you all for being part of our lives!! :)

You are so welcome Bonnie, I saw you from a distance during the dance but not again. Have a few more pictures to add, just have a hard time adding many to my FB. Still haven't been able to figure out how to add them on here. Its always good to see you my dear friend.

May I make a suggestion. This was my first time & I only had an address but no name of the place we were meeting at. It would help new people to have the name where we meet so we want get lost. I parked 3 or 4 blocks above & had to walk a log way & it was rough since I have to use a cane. Please always put the name of the place we are to meet so new people will be able to find it. Thanks so much.

The Captain out did himself this year! Twas a great turn out! For Ale and I, it was our one year anniversary as APWG pirates as last year's Palooza was our first ever pirate event! The day went by so fast and the night came to quickly! Saw many new faces and as always so great to see our pirate friends! Already looking forward to next year's Palooza! Huzzah!!

I would say that the 10th Anniversary Pirate Palooza was the biggest to date and I have never laughed so much! Kudos go to Captain Drew and all the talented performers as well as all the participants! You all are the reason we pirate, ransack, and pillage Decatur each of these last 10 years! Huzzah!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
