Southern Pirate Festival

Set yer sights on Columbus, GA for the Southern Pirate Festival and enjoy the company of yer fellow crew mates!  Thar will be primitive as well as modern camping available fer those who be interested (the camping set up will be during the day on Friday).  Friday night there be a ribeye steak dinner with potato, salad and roll from 6:00 to 7:30 and then a fancy dress ball fer the pirates and wenches at 8:00 til 12:00. Live music will be provided by Tom Mason and The Blues Buccaneers and a dance master teaching the Reel (period dance). The City of Columbus has strict rules about alcohol so it looks like it needs to be a discrete BYOB (small flasks). Absolutely NO ONE under the age of 21 will be allowed to drink - IDs will be checked by the pirates handling security. Then the Festival begins at 10:00 am on Saturday with vendors, performances, and demonstrations fer the pirates as well as the general public. The festival closes to the general public at 5:00. All registered pirates are welcome to come hang out in the period encampment after hours.

To attend the Friday night party and/or camp on site, ye need to register as a pirate and be wearing garb fer the weekend.  The cost for the festival is $30 per person which covers the dinner, ball, festival admission and camping and ye can register at www.spf2012registration.eventbrite.com. Ye can also check out the website: www.southernpiratefestival.com - thar be no pirate registration at the door! Anyone showing yo at the door for the ball without registering will have to pay the full $30.00. The meal will not be included and you must be in garb.

Fer those who be camping, ye need to be contributin' money and/or food fer the communal meals, iffens ye plan on eating with us. So, be contactin' either Bloody Sam Rackham or Calico Ann Rackham about what ye be contributin'.

I wanted to let everyone know that I am working on a cash rum bar for the ball. You must be registered to attend the meal and the ball. The ball is a garbed event. No garb, no admission. Only registered pirates will be having the meal. A cut off date has been given so I can get the count to our caterer. Anyone showing up at the ball that is not registered will only be allowed admission to the ball. $30.00 cash.
As Agave stated, the City of Columbus has very strict alcohol laws.
Anyone under the age of 21 that is caught drinking or with alcohol will be escorted out of the ball with no refund. Anyone 21 and up that is caught giving alcohol to minors will also be escorted out without a refund.
