Set yer sights on Columbus, GA for the Southern Pirate Festival and enjoy the company of yer fellow crew mates! Thar will be primitive as well as modern camping available fer those who be interested (the camping set up will be during the day on Friday). Friday night there be a ribeye steak dinner with potato, salad and roll from 6:00 to 7:30 and then a fancy dress ball fer the pirates and wenches at 8:00 til 12:00. Live music will be provided by Tom Mason and The Blues Buccaneers and a dance master teaching the Reel (period dance). The City of Columbus has strict rules about alcohol so it looks like it needs to be a discrete BYOB (small flasks). Absolutely NO ONE under the age of 21 will be allowed to drink - IDs will be checked by the pirates handling security. Then the Festival begins at 10:00 am on Saturday with vendors, performances, and demonstrations fer the pirates as well as the general public. The festival closes to the general public at 5:00. All registered pirates are welcome to come hang out in the period encampment after hours.
To attend the Friday night party and/or camp on site, ye need to register as a pirate and be wearing garb fer the weekend. The cost for the festival is $30 per person which covers the dinner, ball, festival admission and camping and ye can register at www.spf2012registration.eventbrite.com. Anyone showing yo at the door for the ball without registering will have to pay the full $30.00. The meal will not be included and you must be in garb.
