Here is a copy of the latest regarding the parade. Our line-up numbers have been changed to slots 112 and 113.

Good Evening:

Well...it's almost here! Thanks to all of you for participating, this year's 4th of July Parade will be the biggest and best ever!

As promised, attached is the line-up. It is sorted alphabetically and shows your line-up number and assembly area. If there are any last minute glitches or changes, please be patient and flexible with us.

The Parade Committee recommends that all participants interact with the crowd; have fun, play music, shout ?Happy 4th of July,? hand-out giveaways, etc. Stay cool, wear sunscreen, and bring plenty of water for your participants. There are three port-a-potties at Ace Hardware, so please plan accordingly!

Please remember that all parade marshals, members, officers and committee chairs and contacts are volunteers. You can easily identify a volunteer because we will be dressed in a white Red, White & Dunwoody T-Shirt. We welcome your patience and suggestions to make this parade a memorable one!

Important Reminders:

SAFETY FIRST: Please help us keep this a safe event?keep an eye out for children and all spectators. You are not allowed to throw candy or anything else from your vehicles/floats ? you must have walkers hand giveaways to the spectators.

Black Hawk Helicopters: When you hear/see the helicopters, please STOP the parade procession for everyone?s safety. The helicopters are expected around 10:30am and will be quite a sight!

Swim & Tennis Clubs: We are lining up the swim & tennis clubs in the early part of the parade so the wait time is short and to allow the kids to watch the parade and to partake in the festivities. Please put a Club label/sign on your kids so we know which club they belong to ?.swim team suits and t-shirts all look the same when you put 100?s of kids together.

EMS: We will have EMS on-site. If you or your members have a medical emergency, call 911.

Dunwoody Police: The Dunwoody Police will be patrolling the entire parade. They will close Mount Vernon at 9:00am. If you need police, call 911.

Politicians: All politicians and elected officials must ride in a vehicle and may have a maximum of 4 walkers.

Parade Route: The parade route is 2.5 miles. It steps off from the intersection of Mount Vernon and Jett Ferry at 9:30 a.m. The route runs west on Mount Vernon to Dunwoody Village Parkway, turns right and follows the right side of the median to Calico Corners, then turns left into Dunwoody Village parking lot. We have over 160 entries this year so it is important for you to keep up with the pace of the parade, not slow things down and cause gaps in the line up! Also as you enter the Dunwoody Village parking lot at the end of the route, please follow the instructions of the parade marshals and continue on to the parking area on the back side of the village -- this will help keep the flow of the parade going and not cause any traffic jams or dangerous situations for our spectators and participants.

Check-in: Check-in begins at 8:00am at the Weiland Home Sales Center (former Java U) at the corner of Mount Vernon and Jett Ferry (this is new this year). All registered participants must check-in (with the exception of those assigned to assemble at All Saints - see note below in ?Assembly Area?). Please designate one person within your organization to check-in. Once you check-in, you will receive your line-up number for placement in your vehicle, float, etc.

Assembly Area: Assemble your car, float, and participants in your assigned area; All Saints Church, Ace Hardware (the old/closed one) or St. Luke?s. You can find your assembly area on the attached spreadsheet (it?s sorted alphabetically). When you enter your assembly area you will be greeted by a Parade Marshall who will give you instructions. If you are assigned to the Ace Parking lot, please enter off Dunwoody Club Drive near Southern Comforts Consignment Store and All Creatures Animal Hospital. Swim Teams: Kids assemble at St. Luke?s and your float/vehicle assembles at Ace. For those of you assigned to All Saints, you DO NOT HAVE TO CHECK-IN AT JAVA U. You will receive your line-up number for placement in your vehicle/float at All Saints.

Line-Up: Your line-up number is on the attached spreadsheet. Any late entries will be added at the end.

Parking: If you want to park a vehicle during the parade, please park in the Kroger Parking Lot. .

Questions: If you have any questions or need additional information, please email Penny Forman at [address removed] or call at[masked] 0790. A quick reply email confirming receipt of this email is appreciated.

See you Saturday!
