Galaxy Quest: a Post Modern Star Trek

With the great popularity of Star Trek:Wrath of Khan run by Larry at the Dryden, I thought I would set up one of my favorite science fiction movies for an event.

Galaxy Quest stars Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver and Alan Rickman.  The story is about the actors of a cult TV science fiction show (like Star Trek) who attend fan conventions and try to profit off their fading glory (Think Tim Allen as William Shatner).  But then the actors are called to fulfill their roles to actually save a race of aliens who worship their show and see the Galaxy Quest actors as their saviors.  Amazingly funny and touching.

After, we could go to Starry Nites for some coffee, desserts and talk of how Shatner would truly fill this role if he had time off between Priceline commercials.  ; ).

Great movie. I liked the speaker before the movie. Told us that one of the producers of Star Trek called Galaxy Quest the best episode ever. Nice talk after at Magpie on Park. Never give up! Never surrender!

Bring your son. Humor is a good relief when you are on leave.

    Hello all,

If you are interested in catching dinner before the 8pm show at the Dryden, there is the Food Truck Rodeo at the Public Market (the last Wednesday of the month). It starts at 6 and there are many good food trucks parked under the sheds to pick from. There is also a band. Bring a chair or just walk around. Hope to see you there.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
