Polish Film Festival: My Father's Bike (2012)

Saturday, Nov. 9, 6:30 p.m.
My Father's Bike, Mój Rower, 2012, 90 min.
The film portrays complex relationships between three generations. The story begins when Włodek's 70-year-old wife unexpectedly leaves him for another man. His son and grandson arrive from abroad and set off on a journey to find a woman dear to each of them. Forced by circumstances, the three men must learn how to talk with one another, overcome the past, and eventually rediscover a long-lost bond.

I loved the movie. My first foreign film in a long time. I also loved the get together after and getting to know everyone. Thanks Larry, you are a great host!

I loved this movie . It showed that broken relationships can be repaired. There was enough subtlety in the movie to keep you guessing.

The movie sounds interesting, filled with complicated relationships. Spent yesterday afternoon viewing two movies so I am into the entertainment and analyzation derived from good flicks. Meeting with others who enjoy similar interests is icing on the cake. Hope 2CU there.

the move was wonderful- thank you Larry for organizing it! I never would have gotten out to the polish film fest otherwise, and glad I did. Sorry I had to dash out so quick due to rain, but I made it home on the bike before it really got going.

'My Father's Bike' was a great film. Just the reason to go to a Film Fest. This was my second Polish Film Fest and this movie was as good as my first one.

I found the writing filled with sharp banter, the actor's living up their characters, the lake visuals stunning and the score was just incredible.

@Bev, Ginny, Claudette, Linda, June, Jacquie, Marcia: Had a great time after the movie, both discussing the flick and then covering many topic areas. Just remember for life's difficult decisions: Navy Blue suit, white shirt, black socks and shoes.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and the group. Sorry not to make it to the discussion. Another time, hopefully.

I know I was the guy that was like, 'where are we meeting' and all, but I am gonna have to cancel. The day hasn't worked out like I had expected and I have to work early tomorrow. So I need a domestic evening for laundry and cleaning...before the rats get too big. I'll catch everyone next time around. Be well

I will be in the lobby about 6:10 to greet folks. I look like my avatar so I will be easy to spot. We can head in about 6:25 or earlier for those who prefer. There is no expectation of sitting in one group, but that is usually what happens.
