Thanks Larry! The movie was certainly interesting, well filmed and great to be able to have a Q&A with the director. I appreciate all that you did to get the word out to all of us and make it happen. Great to reunite Sally!

Everyone, enjoy ringing in the New Year and look forward to seeing you again.

Thank you Larry for hosting. I enjoyed the movie. It had the right amount of plot twists that kept you guessing the whole way. It was fun to see the local buildings and scenery. Good conversation afterwards at Spot. It was nice meeting everyone.

Hey! it was nice meeting everyone too. I met a Chauncy and a Bruce at Spot Coffee. But I don't see their names here. Were they guests of Little Theater members?

Larry, let me add to the expressions of appreciation for making it possible for us to see the special viewing of a suspense movie filmed completely in Rochester. Many of us would not have even known about the viewing otherwise. Socializing and critiquing at Spot Coffee afterwards was ideal. Thanks! :)

The film was great. It was a pleasant surprise! A crime thriller just did not appeal to me. I went for the local connection, but found the film dynamic & interesting. Great story, and it kept me on the edge of my seat. The Q & A session was quite informative. Sorry I was not able to stay for the discussion @ The Spot. Larry thanks for hosting.

Enjoyed the movie and the discussion with the director afterwards. Very different subject than other movies I've seen recently (Philomena, Avatar, War Horse) but found it reasonably easy follow. This is saying a lot for someone that easily gets lost or confused watching movies.

An "Indie" suspense film, the more I reflect on it the more I liked it; just out of theatre i was so-so :) I really enjoyed the group at Spot afterward, reuniting with a HS friend and meeting some new people. Thanks Larry for hosting this - great idea, and nice turnout.

Thanks Larry for hosting this meetup. It is always fun to see films with a local connection. Enjoyed the Q & A after the film. I was impressed with the quality of the film considering it is the first full feature for the filmmaker. Spot coffee was a great venue for our conversation after.

My thanks to everyone for the great turnout. For a small indie film on a Friday p.m., I was surprised at the interest.
I enjoyed the movie as a film noir with the inevitable plot twists. The scenery around Rochester was cool to see on the big screen.
And asking questions of the director, producer and scorer afterwards was very interesting.

Spot Coffee was perfect to meet afterwards. We secured a big table and we got 13 people around it for lively, interesting and fascinating conversation.

    Now on to Ameli'e.

Larry I would like to thank you for the timely reply and thoughtful consideration in your judgment of this film in regards to my 14yr. old niece that I am spending this holiday school break with, It is unfortunate that we will not be attending this film. I am quite sure that she will be disappointed in not being able to meet with the local director. she is an inspiring artist and thinks the world of the arts. please keep me inform and thank you for your thoughtfulness.

    Gregory,

The thematic drama is pretty mature. I don't want to give away too much altho' one can google 'A Wife Alone' and get the movie synopsis. However it is not giving away too much to say that the plot line involves prostitution, corruption, abuse and revenge. The movie is NOT rated, and I don't know why ... whether for sexual content or the director simply chose not to. I'm going to take a guess and say that the movie would be rated 'R' ... if it had a rating (which it does not). Granted that could also describe many of Shakespeare's works. My best guess is that the movie is too deep for anyone under 18 ... that is best I can advise.

Good point tho' is that the movie was filmed in Rochester, but the actors are not local.

Hello Larry, I am spending the school break with my 14 yr. old niece, would this movie be appropriate for her and is there a student discount available.. I think that this would be a good experience for her to see the local talent.

Robert just confirmed prices. His msg to me follows:

" “hullo Larry, just called the Little business office--actually got a live person--and she confirmed the regular price of $10, but said that the senior discount was $6...take care, robert "

This is considered by the Little to be a special showing. I will ask when I get there, but I don't know if the movie group discount will be available.
Ticket price for an adult is $10. When I paid, I did not see a senior discount listed.
Also, the website says theater 2. So when you arrive, if you don't see me, verify what theater the movie is running in.

It's hard to know whether this event will be sold out or not. I have already gone on-line at thelittle.org and prepurchased my ticket.
