Mid-Month Movie Meet-up

 Hi Everyone:

    We'll meet in Theatres 2-5 behind the ticket booth and in front of the café between 6:00 - 6:15 p.m.

    If this will be your first time with this group:  Welcome!

    We should be easy to find:  we're the animated ones.  Please introduce yourselves; a good opening line is: 'is this the movie group?'

   For the first-timers:  we don't all see the same movie.  Instead, we choose from the movies being offered by The Little, with each choice starting about the same time, and the movies will end about the same time.  This way, we'll all have a chance to meet afterwards for coffee and conversation.   If you're not sure what you want to see, no worries - we'll help you decide!

 After the movie, WE WILL MEET AT  SPOT COFFEE ON EAST AVENUE UNLESS THEY ARE FULL, IN WHICH CASE, WE WOULD THEN GATHER AT THE GOLDEN PORT JUST A COUPLE OF BLOCKS UP FROM THE SPOT.

 Below is the list of movies for Saturday, September 20th:

 Theatre #2:  Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby; run time is 122 minutes;

   Theatre #3:  The Drop; run time is 106 minutes;

   Theatre #4:  Trip to Italy; run time is 108 minutes;'

    Theatre #5:  My Old Lady

I encourage you to visit The Little's website for a detailed description of each one.

   Which movie will you see?

   I'm leaning towards Trip to Italy; need something light-hearted this week.

  See you at the movies :-)

    Quite a few new additions to our movie family :-) The conversation at Spot coffee was diverse and lively. Thanks to all who attended. I saw The Trip to Italy. ..scenery was breathtaking. .but after all, it was Italy. Went home and started looking for Italy food tours. The 'story' or plot became boring. .watching two adult males competing with each other to see who could do the best Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino, 'James Bond', etc. impression was frustratingly BORING. But on the way home, I remembered a similar type of male bonding non-conversation conversation from The Way We Were. .when Robert Redford and his buddy (name? ) did the Best Year, Best Team (best whatever)...routine. The Trip to Italy: wait for it to be released on Netflix.

      No Michael Cain impressions? That's all they did in the first Trip movie. Over and over and over. After a while it was got annoying it was funny, if that makes sense.

      Yes Michael Cain, Hugh Grant and more than I can/want to remember. Maybe they're buddies bc they 'get' each other. ..on the surface, it's a boring movie but as since I keep thinking about it, maybe it's a wee bit more complex.

    Thanks for hosting the movie, Caroline ! Had a great time at the Spot; after sitting thru the incredibly awful 'The Trip to Italy'. The 'Trip' was a painfully whinny movie, which made watching a glacier melt a thrilling proposition. the only times when it was half-way bearable were when the 2 bimbos weren't featured in the scene; but it might take a while to appreciate any seaside video without cringing at the memory of this flick!
