Welcome to the Milwaukee Movie Fans Meetup Group! Below is some general information about our group. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or the assistant organizers!

How the Movie Meet-ups Work: Each organizer picks out a movie they want to see and organizes a meet up. Please review the details of each meet up carefully. Some organizers post the time of the movie, then in the description, post the meet up time. Others post the meet up time, then in the description, place the movie start time. Usually included in the description or in a separate email to the “yes” and “maybe” RSVP’s is where the organizer will be and how to identify the organizer at the theater. Occasionally, organizers/members of the group send emails out to the group on movie topics. If you would not like to receive emails, go into your Profile, then Account, then Membership & Communication (on the left side of the screen), review the whole page and select your email preferences accordingly.

Meetup.com Movie Fans Membership Fees: Currently, I am paying for the Meetup.com fees. I am requesting a once a year payment of $5.00 to cover the Meetup.com. The total amount of money made above the minimum amount of money needed to pay for the Meetup.com fees will be given back to members via names drawn out of a popcorn tub in December at a movie meetup! I will take the amount of money and divvy it up into gift cards/gift certificates to local movie theaters. So, in order for your name to be entered into the drawing, there are two minimum requirements:
1) Paid the $5.00 membership for 2011
2) Attended at least one movie meetup event during the 2011 year. Payments can made in person, mail by check or via paypal.

Milwaukee Movie Fans active membership: In order to maintain your active status with this meet up group, a member must visit the group's page while logged in to Meetup.com. You don't need to actually do anything -- such as RSVP for a Meet up, post to the message board, or take a poll -- you just need to visit the group site. Any members that are not active for 6 months will be removed from the membership list. You’re welcome to rejoin the group at any time.

Movie of the Month Discussion Group: Once a month (usually last Saturday or Sunday of the month) we have our movies of the month discussion group. This entails viewing the movies in the meet up description via whichever method you can obtain the movies (Netflix, Blockbuster, the library, borrowing from one of the MMF members, etc.), then we get together to discuss what each individual got out of the movies. We usually stick to independent films for this discussion group.
