Summer Classics at the Strand - Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Once again, the Strand Theater in Clinton is hosting their Summer Movie Classics.  A different classic movie every Monday night through July and August.

Toon star Roger Rabbit is wanted for murder! He teams up with human private eye Bob Hoskins to prove his innocence.  This film was a milestone in combining animation and live action, and it's pretty funny.

We'll plan to meet outside the lobby about 1/2 hour before the movie begins.  If you need to reach me, my cell phone number is[masked]-0455.

The schedule:

  • July 8 - Jaws (1975)
  • July 15 - Back to the Future (1985)
  • July 22 - Rebel Without a Cause (1955)
  • July 29 - Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)
  • August 5 - Chariots of Fire (1981)
  • August 12 - Rain Man (1988)
  • August 19 - E.T. The Extra Terrestrial (1982)
  • August 26 - Vertigo (1958)

Had a great time. Glad the power went out after the film.

So nice to see some new and seasoned members. For those who didn't know, the voice of Jessica Rabbit (talking) is Kathleen Turner and the voice of Jessica Rabbit (singing) is Amy Irving, the former wife of Mr. Spielberg. Either way, both were very sexy enough to drop jaws. Were you asleep through this part Jerry? :)

Thanks for coming, everyone. I'm sorry I was late. Traffic on I-495 was awful. Thanks to Bonnie for rounding everyone up.

Does anyone think there will be a long line for this one?

@ Jerry, which pub? There's plenty to choose from as at one point in time, Clinton had the most watering holes per capita in the U.S!

I know that they have food there. Does anyone know the relative costs? I just want to know if I need to take out more money.

I would estimate spending between $15-$18 for food and drink, depending on what you get.

If I get a sandwich, a beer, and onion rings, it's about $15. I think a sandwich/burger is about $7. Fries or Rings are about $4. Prices are reasonable, in my opinion.

Skipping since I saw at home recently, though, it still holds up in my opinion, and there's surprising similarity to the story in Chinatown.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
