As part of its midnight Film School series, Facets is showing the legendary 60s cult film "Putney Swope" Saturday at midnight. Directed by Iron Man Sr., it's a go-for-broke satire on both race relations and the advertising industry, in which an African-American inadvertently heads the agency, leading to him firing everyone, running it as a black power organization, and putting out some parody commercials that shock even today. The event will also feature writer Melody Kamali talking about the movie's cultural impact and importance before and after the film's airing.
