Debi - I thought it was "interesting." The photography was delicious and I am going to be keeping an eye out for more Oscar Isaac. (I didn't realize until I IMDB'ed him that he played Carey Mulligan's boyfriend in "Drive." Wow - same guy?!) I didn't see the movie with the group either, but I just didn't connect with it. What was it? A tribute to the 60's folk scene in Greenwich Village? A lesson that great artists can be real jerks? A cautionary tale that some great artists just don't get the breaks? Aside from beautiful photography and a terrific performance by Isaac, the rest of it just left me cold. And some parts downright annoyed me. Sometimes I love the Coen Bros., sometimes I hate them. This was kind of in the middle.

Thanks Chip - glad it wasn't just me - exactly - what was the message? I didn't like him after a time & no sympathy by the end. Why were these five days memorable even. Totally agree about the photography - loved the feeling just missed the goal. He played beautifully & voice was good but nothing that warranted putting up with his personality or merited a movie about him. Tho the guy they loosely based this on sounded much more interesting & much more revered & even liked than Llewyn was protrayed. Anyway - thanks for the response & agreement!!

Nobody rated this movie? I had very mixed feelings about it but didn't see it with the group. Mostly disappointed sorry to say - was anyone else or did you all love it & I was in a weird frame of mind?? Just curious
